About Us
A Vet's Menagerie Animal Rescue Inc is a registered not-for-profit organisation located in Clackline, Western Australia. Our mission is to provide sanctuary, necessary health care and to facilitate the adoption of animals in need. Our specialty is in livestock species which tend to be harder to rehome and have specific husbandry and housing requirements. We do also take in exotic species (rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles) and on rare occasions small animals (cats/dogs) but usually encourage surrenders to specific dog/cat rescues as these are better set up for the requirements of these species.
A Vet's Menagerie Animal Rescue Inc is an Incorporated Entity, a registered Charity with the ACNC, is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient and has a Charity Collections License.

Story

From humble beginnings . . .
Our director and founder Dr Lena Pulbrook (Veterinarian) started her career in mixed animal practice after graduating.
Within 3 months she had acquired an orphaned baby goat and a piglet that had been brought to her clinic for euthanasia. Gilbert (goat) and Pickles (pig) were the first of many, representing a niche rescue environment.
Over the first 6 years of her career Dr Lena had up to 52 animals in her care at any one time, she recognised the need for expansion, but could not financially or physically support any more rescues alone. This is how A Vet's Menagerie was born.
